ME to WE-Yellow/Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

On Friday, September 15th the Sister Catherine Donnelly school community will be going gold for children with cancer. Gold is the colour of the childhood cancer awareness ribbon and September marks childhood cancer awareness month. Cancer remains the number one cause of disease related death for children across North America. With 1 out of 285 children affected too many of us know a child and family who have had to struggle through a cancer diagnosis.
On Friday, September 15th we are asking all staff, students and families to wear something yellow or gold to show their support for all children who are and who have fought cancer. The social justice team will also be providing each student with a gold ribbon pin to wear for the day and we will be joining in prayer for all of these children. Thank you for helping us to spread hope!
